OldTrapper's Recipes
OldTrapper's Old Fashioned Doughnuts
4 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
4 eggs
1/3 cup shortning
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Mix ingredients. Either roll out, and cut with a doughnut cutter, or use doughnut dropper. Deep fry at 370* turning once after underside is browned.
OldTrapper's Soft Ginger Cookies
Makes about 12 to 20 dozen so use what you want, and freeze the remainder for later. If you only use a third, or a quarter, divide remainder accordingly.

3 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups of oil (olive preferably)
1 cup molasses
1 cup milk
3 eggs
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp cloves
1 tbsp ginger

Mix ingredients together. Add enough flour to bring to a stiff dough usually around six to eight cups. Roll into silver dollar sized balls. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375* till firm
OldTrapper's Carrot Goulash
1 lb. hamburger
7 large carrots grated
1/2 large onion diced
1/2 large green pepper diced
1 stalk celery diced
2 teaspoons chopped garlic
1/2 package of taco seasoning
1 can mushroom soup
1 can tomato soup

Boil 1 cup brown rice in 2 1/4 cups of water, and 2 tablespoons of oil.

Brown hamburger, and drain grease. Add three tablespoons olive oil to pan, or as much as desired to insure hamburger does not stick to bottom of pan. Place browned hamburger back in pan. Cover with carrots, onions, peppers, celery, garlic. Then top with soups, and taco seasoning. Bring to a medium heat, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer till carrots are tender, stirring occasionally.

Serve over boiled rice
OldTrapper's Oatmeal Cookies
2 cups flour
2 cups oatmeal
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1cup of milk
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup walnuts optional

Mix dry ingredients. Add liquids.
Drop on greased cookie sheet, bake at 350* till firm
OldTrapper's Mayonaisse/Date/Nut Cake
1 box chocolate cake mix
1 cup water
1 cup diced dates
2 cups mayonaisse
1 cup walnuts

Boil dates in water for 20 minutes. Add to cake mixture. Add 2 cups mayonaisse, and 1 cup walnuts. Bake at 350* for 45, to 50, minutes or until knife stuck in comes out clean.
